About Us
Your Hosts
Hi! We are Heidi and Brian. We are a couple of easygoing “empty-nesters” and a friendly cat. Meeting people from around the world is a real pleasure. And our cat, Pozie, really loves it too! We started to work on our Bed & Breakfast, The Cat’s Pajamas, in July 2017. It is in our modest home on five wild and forested acres.
We met at dance class. We both enjoy ballroom dancing and other forms of social dancing such as swing and west coast swing. We even went on a West Coast Swing Caribbean Cruise for our honeymoon, with some of the top competitors and teachers in the world. If you would like to learn a little swing dancing, we would be more than happy teach you!

Snorkeling In Cabo San Lucas
cont.
I am a natural caregiver and so I love having a B&B. I just want people to be happy and really feel like they belong here. I am slowly working on improving our (eclectic) decor as finances allow. I really want a chandelier in the French Country Bedroom!
But for us, the decor comes second to our guests' needs. Personal comfort, security, sense of connection & belonging, and feeling respected. That's what we as hosts try to give our guests.
Brian has 5 grown children spread across the country from coast to coast. I wish we could see our 6 grandchildren more often.
It would be so nice to have kids in the house. I'm hoping families will choose to stay with us. We do not have electronics for the kids. We have what we had as kids... fresh air and the wide wild world!
Disclaimer
Although we have a cat, our B&B is named the Cat's Pajamas, and we have a cat theme on our website, I am not a Crazy Cat Lady. You will not be subjected to Crazy Cat Lady ramblings or cat decor. Have no fear. :)
Sincerely,
Heidi
That said, now let me introduce you to our cat... ;)

About Our Cat, Pozie

Of course, we must introduce Pozie! Pozie is a 4 year old spayed female with pale blue eyes, long white fur and a fluffy tail. She is up-to-date with all her shots. Her name is from "Ring around the rosy, Pocket full of Posy." Posy (Pozie) means little flowers, or a handful of little flowers. She doesn't actually wear pajamas... in case you were wondering!

Playing
She is very social and friendly. She loves to be with chatting people and tries to be the centre of attention!
She likes to play with her toys. If you wish to interact with her, her toys are on the buffet behind the big couch in the living room. Her treats are in the cupboard above the fridge. She can have some treats a couple times per day. We put them in the heart-shaped dish beside her food dish.
Pozie, the Cat

Rules for Pozie
In summer, Pozie is allowed outside after 6 am, and must come inside by 7:00 pm. Please don't let her outside after 6 pm.
From autumn through spring, Pozie is allowed outside after 7 am and must come in by 5 pm. Please don't let her outside after 4 pm.
There are cat-eating wild animals living around here. They tend to be more active from dusk until dawn.
Pozie is not allowed on the counter or dining table, especially when there is food. But she will try to get up to get close to you. She isn't after your food.
Just say no and put her on the floor.

Pozie's Rules fus Us
She prefers to be patted only when she is begging for it, which is most of the time. If she is just relaxing by herself, she often prefers not to be bothered.
If she rolls onto her back and acts cute, exposing her belly, please do not touch her belly. She actually does not like that at all. It’s a trick! Haha!
Overall, she says she needs attention and treats. Then she said something about catnip...
For families staying with us:
Please teach your children how to interact with cats.
